Today, I suddenly felt that the space allocated by Linux seems to be insufficient, so I tried to increase the root partition, and the following is the record.
Backup#
Use diskgenius to back up the entire Linux partition to a pmf file.
Quoted from csdn, this is a detailed article on the DiskGenius backup/restore function.
Preparation before expansion#
Use diskgenius's partition extension and cloning functions to reserve the appropriate size of unallocated space near the Linux system partition. It may be a bit troublesome, but it's very simple.Start expanding#
- Find the USB flash drive used to install the system, or make one now.
- Open the "Try Ubuntu" option when installing the system.
If it doesn't show up and the installation steps appear directly, click exit, and you will enter the trial system. - Open GParted included in the trial system, select the installed system partition,
click "resize", adjust to the appropriate size, and save.
There may be security warnings, just agree (after all, there is a partition image backup, no need to panic).
In general, after completion, shut down, unplug the USB flash drive, restart, and the expansion should be successful.
If unfortunately failed#
Please immediately use the partition image backup to restore the partition and seek another method. Here are some other methods I have collected, but I have not personally tried them, perhaps they will help you.
